Oman - Libraries and museums

The library at Sultan Qaboos University has 145,000 volumes, and the Muscat Technical and Industrial College has 10,000 volumes. A British Council Library of almost 8,000 volumes was founded in 1973 in Matrah. The Ministry of National Heritage and Culture administers the National Museum of Ruwi, the Qurm Museum, and the Oman Natural History Museum, which includes the National Herbarium of Oman (a botanical garden) and the National Shell Collection.
