Canada is a county located in North America that extends through the Atlantic, Pacific and Arctic Oceans. The country is both bilingual and multicultural, with both English and French influences. The country experiences a wide array of climactic differences, winters can be harshly cold, while summers on the west and east coasts have very pleasant temperatures.

Standing between the Skydome and the Metro Toronto Convention Center is the CN Tower, which is the tallest building in Canada. The structure stands at 1,815 feet 5 inches tall and has night lighting, a lookout tower, glass floor, Skypod, high speed elevators, a movie theater, restaurant and a garden filled with native flora and fauna. The CN tower was constructed by Canada National and took approximately 40 months to build. The CN Tower is one of the most popular tourist attractions and has around 2 million visitors per year.

Canada is also home to the famous, “Sleeping Beauty Castle”, or as it is commonly known, Casa Loma Castle. The castle was constructed beginning in 1910 by Sir Henry Pellatt, a prominent Toronto businessman. While traveling through Europe, Sir Henry was inspired by the romance of the architecture and set out to build his own, “house on the hill”, or Casa Loma, for his future bride. With the help of Canadian architect E. J. Lennox, Sir Henry brought his dream to a reality as he drew up plans to design the castle. Sir Henry lead a life filled with doing good deeds and philanthropy, he donated money to various charitable causes and founded the Grace Hospital. During World War I, instead of throwing his money into war bonds, Sir Henry was flooding his $17 million dollar fortune into building homes and purchasing land. As a result, he lost his fortune and was forced to sell his personal art collection and abandon his dream of owning his own castle. During the onset of the Depression the castle sat empty for over fifteen years, until the city of Toronto and the Kiwanis Club came to an agreement to refurbish the castle and open it up to the public as a tourist attraction. The castle was officially reopened in 1937, and continues to welcome guests between the months of May to October. The castle is self-sufficient and donates back to the economy every year and is considered the largest self-supporting tourist attraction in the world.

For a completely different experience, visitors can tour the African Lion Safari. The business is family owned and guests are invited to tour the facility from the comfort of a car. When the gates were first opened back in 1969, the sanctuary had forty lions throughout three reserves and today is home to over one-thousand animals of over one-hundred different species. The facility has been successful in breeding over thirty different species that are considered endangered, as well as over twenty species that are threatened. The establishment also offers bird and mammalian performances, a parrot show and an elephant round-up. There is never a lack of enjoyable entertainment to be witnessed at the safari and it attracts over three-hundred thousand visitors per year.

For tourists seeking welcoming accommodations, the Old Mill Inn and Spa has everything one needs to be pampered and spoiled. The hotel offers guests full service spa treatments, manicured landscapes and two restaurants and a bar on the grounds. For people searching for more nontraditional lodgings, the Casablanca Winery Inn, is just what they are looking for. Located in the heart of wine country, the inn offers both fine and casual dining, and indoor and outdoor swimming pool and some of the best views in wine country. For travelers searching for a destination that has unlimited attractions and something different, Canada is the perfect setting for experiencing a “global” vacation all within one country.
