(b) Hard data: These data come from indicators obtained from a variety of sources. This indicator is a derived from the following indicators: (a) Capacity for innovation (b) Quality of scientific research institutions (c) Company spending on R&D (d) University-industry collaboration in R&D (e) Gov’t procurement of advanced tech products (f) Availability of scientists and engineers (g) Utility patents* Data source from survey data while asterisk (*) implies that data source are hard data.
