Dominica - Domestic trade

Local produce markets exist in all the small villages and towns. About 40% of the work force is employed in agriculture. Many foods and manufactured goods are imported. Commercial activity is concentrated in the morning hours, since tropical rains impede afternoon travel. Banks are open from 8 AM to 1 PM , Monday–Friday, with additional hours from 3 to 5 PM on Friday. There is no commercial activity on Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
