Malawi - Religions



As of a 2002 report, it is believed that more than 70% of the population are Christian, with the largest groups being affiliated with the Roman Catholic and Presbyterian (Church of Central Africa Presbyterian—CCAP) Churches. There are smaller numbers of Anglicans, Baptists, evangelicals, and Seventh-Day Adventists. Muslims account for approximately 20% of the population, with most belonging to the Sunni sect. Tribal religionists account for about 3% of the population. There are also small numbers of Hindus and Baha'is.
