Ghana - International cooperation



On 8 March 1957, Ghana was admitted to UN membership; the nation belongs to ECA and all the nonregional specialized agencies. Ghana is also a member of the African Development Bank, Commonwealth of Nations, G-77, and African Union. In November 1974, Ghana was admitted as a member of the International Bauxite Association, and in June 1975 it ratified the treaty creating ECOWAS. The nation is a member of the WTO and a signatory of the Law of the Sea.
