Comoros - International cooperation



On 12 November 1975, the Comoros became a UN member. The nation participates in the ECA, FAO, IBRD, IDA, IFAD, ILO, IMF, ITU, UNESCO, UNIDO, UPU, WHO, and WMO, as well as in the African Development Bank, G-77, and AU. It is also a member of two groups formed in the 1980s, the Indian Ocean Commission and the Preferential Trade Area for East and Southern Africa. Comoros is a signatory of the Law of the Sea and has applied for membership in the WTO.
