Venezuela is a country located off the north coast of South America and is among the most urbanized countries in Latin America. The capital of Venezuela is Caracas, which is also its largest city. Venezuela also hosts a rich abundance of wildlife and that dwell in number of protected habitats. Since it lies within the Neotropic ecozone, Venezuela used to be covered by large broadleaf forests. It is one of the top twenty countries in the world and has a large number of indigenous plants and animals.

One of the most beautiful locations in all of Venezuela would have to be Angel Falls. Angel Falls is the tallest waterfall in the world and is located inside Canaima National Park in Bolivar State, Venezuela. Some people believed that Sir Walter Raleigh discovered Angel Falls, however, it was James “Jimmie” Crawford Angel who flew over the on November 16th, 1933, it was he who exposed the falls to the outside world. Angel Falls is one of the top tourist destinations in Venezuela, the falls are accessible through a river trip or from flying via helicopter.

Pico Bolivar, which measures 4,981 meters, is the highest mountain in Venezuela. It permanently covered with Neve snow and has three glaciers. Located in Merida State, tourists can reach the mountain peak by taking the Merida Cable Car, which is the highest cable car in the world. It is named after Venezuelan independence icon Simon Bolivar.

La Gran Sabana is another region in Bolivar State, Venezuela. Located south of the Orinoco River, this area is completely occupied by the Guayana mountain range and is formed out of block of granite. The area is cut by several tributaries of the Caroni River and boasts a tropical climate lush with vegetation and forests. This beautiful location was the setting for the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle novel, “The Lost World”. La Gran Sabana and Canaima National Park are fast becoming two of the most popular tourist spots for those looking for undisturbed nature in its finest form.

Los Tepuyes, or The Tepuis, is an area the permeates the entire park. These are a chain of mountains that have one-of-a-kind characteristics, on the summit there are various flora and fauna that are endemic and of great scientific value. Here tourists can view a vast array of indigenous animals which are widespread due to the various climactic and environmental factors.

Another less visited, but nonetheless fascinating locations to visit in Venezuela is El Pauji, Una Comunidad Distina. The Pauji is a Creolo community, not an Indian one, the members of this community live freely in the lands that are located south of Venezuela. It is a very popular tourist attraction due to the fact it is a peaceful and tranquil place, full of old customs and tradition. It is here that takamajaka is made by the villagers, this is a sweet smelling incense which only recently reached the national market. The Pauji is a community filled with skilled craftsman who make their living by selling their wares to tourists as a means of support.

Venezuela also offers tourists hotels such as the Hesperia Isla Margerita Hotel Venezuela, Hotel Ole Caribe Estado Vargas Hotel Venezuela, and the La Flamboyant Hotel Margarita Island. Each of these hotels offers all of the accommodations and comforts a traveler needs. Venezuela is a country which with so many different environments, it can vary from tropical humid to alpine, depending on the altitude and region. The best time to embark on a trip to Venezuela is during the months of September through March, and travelers would do well to avoid the month of July, which is the rainy season.
