Strbske pleso is a mountain lake of glacial origin in the High Tatras in Slovakia. There are several hotels built around the lake.

Slovakia is a country in Central Europe and has a population of over 5 million people. The landscape of Slovakia is home to the Carpathian Mountains, Krivan and Tatra Mountains, all of which are popular for snow skiing. Slovakia has natural landscapes with mountains, caves, castles, towns and ski resorts. Every year more than 1.6 million people visit Slovakia and the number continues to climb annually.

The Bojnice Zoo, is located near the town of Bojnice and one of the oldest zoos in Slovakia, opening in 1955. The zoo has 355 animal species and a total of 1826 specimens in total, and is active in the European Breeding Program to protect endangered species.

Another interesting attraction is the village of Cicmany, in the Zilina District in northern Slovakia. This village is well known for its folksy-like architecture and has homes that were built in an unusual lacy pattern. Cicmany is the first folk architecture reserve in the entire world, while some of the houses have been moved to Povazske Museum in Zilina, there are still some available open to the public for visitors.

In the wine growing region of the Small Carpathian range lies the village of Modra, located in the Bratislava Region of Slovakia. Modra is an excellent location for hiking excursions, however, it is the pottery products produced here that make the village famous. There are tours of the factory available, visitors will see the entire process of how the blue-and-white pottery is made from start to finish.

The Demanovska cave is one of the most beautiful and frequently visited in all of Slovakia. The location is famous for its waterfalls, stalagmites and sphaerolithic stalactites and other interesting rock formations. The length of the cave is more than 1,800 meters and open to the public for tours.

The Slanica Island of Art is worth a trip for the art lover, it is home to a church which is home to a large collection of fork art entitled, “Slovak Traditional Folk Sculpture and Painting”. Every year in June and July, this island is host to a classical music festival which is held in the exhibition hall of the church. The Orava Gallery boat takes visitors from Slanicka harbor to the Goral Hotel, which is located on the island. The hotel has a spa, restaurant, massage parlor, coffee shop and dance club.

Rajeska Lesna is about fifteen miles south of Zilna and is home to the Slovensky Bethlehem. This is a spectacular piece of artwork that is made of wood and carved to represent the scene of the first Nativity, as well as the birth of Slovakia. It was designed and carved by Jozef Pekara, it began in 1980 and was completed in 1988. The total art scene contains over 150 animals and 170 people, some in folk costumes and some dancing. The central portion contains the castle, Cathedral St. Martin, the Tatra Mountain range and other regional scenes. In the middle portion, set in Rejeska Lesna depicts the birth of Jesus Christ, there are actual wooden figurines on a pulley system that move past continuously and give the appearance of being alive with activity.

About three miles northeast of Michalovce is a man-made lake, also known as the Slovak Sea. The lake is an ideal spot for hiking, trekking through the terrain, picnicking and many other activities which make it a popular tourist destination. The sea is open all year round and welcomes tourists to enjoy its sparkling waters and fascinating scenery.

The Hotel Marrols is a very popular four-star hotel, located in the heart of Bratislava. It is within walking distance of the Slovak National Theater, The Old Townhall and St. Martins Cathedral. The country of Slovakia is inviting and welcomes tourists from all over the world each year.
