Norfolk Island is located in the Pacific Ocean. This small island is surrounded by Australia, New Caldeonia, and New Zealand. The climate is subtropical and the coastline is made up of varying degrees of cliffs. Norfolk Island was first sighted by Captain James Cook in 1774 on his second trip to the South Pacific. A majority of the population on the island is European or of European-Tahitian ancestry. This has made English and the Creole language of Norfuk the native language of Norfolk Island.

Camelot Gardens is a great place to view native flora on Norfolk Island. The gardens were created in 2001. Camelot was the dream of Robin Eleanor Adams. Adams has always been an avid gardener and wanted to share her creation with the public. This sprawling garden is designed to inspire visitors to create their own private gardens at home. The park has the largest tree ferns on the planet and is home to many endangered species of plants and animals. With the park being located on a remote island, makes this place a bird watchers paradise. Many of the species spotted here are the Norfolk Island Green Parrot, Golden Whistlers, and Fantails just to name a few. The Norfolk Island National Parks has many diverse things for visitors to experience and enjoy in the park.
