Anguilla is a British overseas territory located in the Caribbean Sea. Anguilla is best known for its spectacular and ecologically important coral reefs. The climate is tropical and experiences very little rainfall. This gives the island many beautiful sunny days and warm breezes. The island is small and only measures sixteen miles long and three miles wide.

The Prickly Pear Cay is only a six mile boat ride from the main land of Anguilla. The cays have two restaurants and a popular bar. The cays are a bird watchers paradise, with about 159 species to observe in the cays. The cliffs also offer great jumping off points for divers. This unspoiled environment gives the visitor several opportunities to enjoy the marine life underneath the azure colored waters. The Prickly Pear Cays also has a cave to explore and makes for the perfect day trip for visitors to the island.

The Valley is the main town and capital of Anguilla. Dotted with new buildings and renovated West Indies style cottages, it gives visitors a true feeling of the culture in Anguilla. The town has many art galleries featuring works done by native artists and a few transplanted ones attracted to the unique beauty of the island. Many quaint shops and inviting restaurants line the streets and attract visitors in search of a taste of the local cuisine available. The Valley has many activities and something available for everyone.

The Wallblake House in The Valley, is one of the most popular and photographed buildings in Anguilla. The house was built in 1787, though nobody can be sure who designed or built it or how long it took to construct. The house is the oldest building and only surviving plantation on the island. The Wallblake House is also one of the few plantations in the Caribbean in which the entire complex of buildings have survived intact. Visitors will be amazed at the stable, kitchen, and the workers quarters that still standing. The structure has become an important part of Anguillas history and culture. The Wallblake House is a must see for all visitors to the island.

Shoal Bay beach has some of the whitest sand in the Caribbean. This beach is very popular among visitors to Anguilla. The white coral and bits of white shell add a sheen to the sand that is breathtaking in the Caribbean sun. Shoal Bay provides tourists the chance to snorkel and dive and is a popular location for many water activities on the island.

The Malliouhana Hotel and Spa is located on a bluff in Meads Bay. The hotel is family owned and operated. Guests have access to three intimate beaches and five freshwater pools. This resort offers some of the best cuisine on the island. The CuisinArt Resort has the only hydroponic farm in the world located on the grounds. Guests are welcomed to tour the hydroponic farm with a guide to answer questions and tell the story of the garden. Both of these resorts offer some of the best accommodations on the island are renowned for having the highest quality of guest services.

The island of Anguilla is a true natural wonder. Anguilla boasts some of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the Caribbean. From diving to laying on the beach, this island is a true pearl of the Caribbean.
