The Bahamas joined the UN on 18 September 1973 and belongs to ECLAC and all the nonregional specialized agencies except IAEA, IDA, IFAD, and IFC. It is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, ACP, C, Caricom, CCC, CDB, ECLAC, FAO, G-77, IADB, IBRD, ICAO, ICFTU, ICRM, IFC, IFRCS, ILO, IMF, IMO, Interpol, IOC, ITU, LAES, NAM, OAS, OPANAL, OPCW (signatory), UN, UNCTAD, UNESCO, UNIDO, UPU, WHO, WIPO, WMO, WTrO (observer).
