Barbados - Domestic trade



There are fish, fruit, and vegetable markets, and stores for all types of shopping. In recent years, the economy of Barbados has been shifting from primary dependence on sugar production to major growth in the tourism industry. Many food products and other consumer goods are imported. General business is conducted on weekdays from 8 AM to 4:30 PM . Most shops are also open Saturdays from 8 AM to noon. Banks are open Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 3 PM , and Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM .
