Niger - International cooperation



Niger was admitted to UN membership on 20 September 1960, and is a member of ECA and all the other nonregional specialized agencies except IMO. Niger is also a member of the African Development Bank, ECOWAS, G-77, and the African Union, a signatory the Law of the Sea and a member of the WTO. It has joined with Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Togo in the Council of the Entente, a customs union with a common solidarity fund.
